¡Feliz Pascua!

This past weekend, we celebrated Easter here in Chile. For me, Easter is always a wonderful time to reflect on our salvation. Christ’s life, death and resurrection gives us life. It is a time to rejoice in the marvelous gift we were given and a time to reflect about the amazing love of God.

John 3:16  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
It’s the verse that is tossed around so often, but it holds so much truth. It is the clearest statement of what Christ did for us. It also shows the depth of God’s love. Just something to reflect on.
This Easter, I was given the opportunity to do some pretty different things.
On Friday, Unión Cristiana had a time of beach evangelism. A group of people from the Church went out and asked what people thought about Holy Week, Easter, and Christ’s sacrifice. I walked around with Hope and Lisa. One plus to three gringas who sometimes have issues with Spanish? People almost always stopped when I said “Tenemos una pregunta..” Honestly, I think most of them thought we were lost. But that was an awesome lead in to some interesting conversations as to what they thought about the holiday weekend. (Here in Chile, most people have Friday and Saturday off, maybe even Thursday). I pray that we were able to spark something in at least someone.
Saturday was my host mom’s birthday celebration! We celebrated it with family and an asado (Chilean barbecue). So good. So much food. So much fun. (Another post to come for that one)
Sunday, I went to church with the Veritas Fam. We went out for snacks and to chat at McDonald’s after.

All in all, it was a pretty great weekend.
